From Quinceañeras to Corporate Lunches: The Range of Celebrations FryDay Caters Across Los Angeles

If you look at the kinds of gatherings FryDay serves, the list is wide. A quinceañera on a Saturday afternoon. A corporate lunch on a weekday. A wedding reception, a school event, a sports gathering, a private birthday. They look different on the surface, with different guests, different dress codes, and different reasons for celebrating. But when you stand at the window of a food truck long enough, you start to notice what they share.

This is a look at the range of celebrations FryDay caters across Los Angeles, and the common thread that runs through them all.

Where FryDay Comes From

FryDay Food Truck was founded on July 4, 2019, in Van Nuys, by Theophilos "Theo" Okuribido. From the beginning, the idea was gourmet loaded fries served with real hospitality, coming to the people of Los Angeles instead of waiting for them to come to us. Since then, FryDay has grown into both a food truck and a ghost kitchen, so there are two ways to get the food: have the truck show up at your event, or order through the kitchen.

That mix of mobility and a home base shapes how we approach every event. We are used to showing up, setting up, and serving a crowd, and we are also used to thinking about the people who are not at a special event but just want a great plate at home.

Private Parties: Birthdays, Quinceañeras, and Family Milestones

Private celebrations are some of the most personal events we serve. A quinceañera is a milestone the whole family has been planning for months. A birthday is a reason to gather friends. These events are not about the food alone, but the food becomes part of the memory. Loaded fries are easy for guests of all ages to enjoy, and a truck can give a party a fun focal point without the formality of a sit-down meal.

For private events, the planning conversation tends to be about people: who is coming, what ages they are, who might want something milder, and how the schedule flows. Our four signature flavors, Nashville Hot Chicken, Caribbean Jerk, Mango Habanero, and BBQ Bacon, give hosts room to please a mixed crowd.

Weddings and Receptions

Weddings are another place where a food truck can add personality. Some couples want a late-night bite for guests after dinner. Others want the truck to be part of the main celebration. Either way, the key is communication: confirming timing, the space, the service window, and how the truck fits with the planner, the venue, and other vendors.

We have found that the best wedding service comes from a calm, clear plan agreed on well before the day. The couple should enjoy their celebration, and the truck should be a pleasant surprise instead of a worry.

Corporate and Workplace Gatherings

Companies bring us in for lunches, appreciation days, meetings, and celebrations. These events usually come with a schedule, a headcount, and a need to keep things moving. We think about how the line will flow, how long service will take, and how to make sure people can eat and get back to work, or enjoy a break, without stress.

A food truck can also turn an ordinary workday into something people remember. A shared meal outdoors gives coworkers a chance to talk in a way a conference room does not always allow.

Schools, Teams, and Community Events

Some of the events closest to our heart are the ones tied to community: school gatherings, sports events, and neighborhood celebrations. FryDay has served events connected to LAUSD and to UCLA, and we are proud to be part of the places where Los Angeles comes together. Community events often bring many ages and many backgrounds into the same line, and a simple, shareable dish works well for that.

Big Public Events

FryDay has also been part of large, well-known Los Angeles gatherings, including NBA All-Star Weekend, the LA Dodgers Divisional Playoffs, the BET Fan Experience, and events with the LA Galaxy. Big crowds teach lessons in speed, simplicity, and consistency, and we bring those lessons back to smaller events too. A private party of fifty benefits from the same attention to flow that a larger event demands.

What They All Share

So what is the common thread? After all these different kinds of events, we keep coming back to a few simple ideas.

  • People want to feel welcomed. A smile at the window, a clear explanation of the menu, and a friendly answer to a question can make a guest's day.
  • People want food that feels like part of the celebration. Loaded fries are fun, warm, and generous, and they invite sharing.
  • Hosts want to relax. The best catering lets the host enjoy their own event, which means clear planning, reliable service, and no surprises.
  • Every event has a story. Whether it is a first birthday or a company milestone, we try to remember that we are part of someone's day.

How to Plan Your Own Event With FryDay

If you are thinking about bringing FryDay to your next gathering, a few steps help:

  • Think about the type of event, the date, and the number of guests.
  • Consider the space: where the truck will park, how guests will line up, and where they will eat.
  • Choose the flavors that match your crowd, or ask for suggestions.
  • Reach out early so we can talk through the details and check availability.

We are happy to talk through your event, answer questions, and help you picture how the day could go. Every celebration is a little different, and we enjoy figuring out what will make yours feel right.
